Something a little different … not usually the sort of thing I go for but it was nice to get out for a few hours and wet at line.
Things were fairly quiet until the last hour or two of the evening and then the trout began to feed … all be it momentarily.
The bite window was very short!
No great size but lively and a good scrap on light tackle.
These fish all fell to 7g metal jigs fished very lovely – I have this one rigged with a longer, half assist style single hook at the rear.
Not the conventional assist style but it adds an interesting wiggle to the lure on a straight retrieve.
Anyway, something to keep the fingers from getting itchy.
Later in the week I am planning to get out for pike so fingers crossed.
